Ask them whether they have a back-up plan for you. Deferring your scholarship for another year, for instance so that the univ would be happy to do the same about your place in the programme.

In my situation, I am pressing the BCouncil to speed up the inquiry and decision-making process as I need to clear matters with my employer. Will raise the issue of deferral as an option, although their margin of manoeuvre will be limited by London.

Have you actually received a chevening offer and the BC decided to hold your applicaton for further notice? or are you saying that they will pend all applications of those whom they haven't yet got back to?

I received an offer on March, but still didn't hear anything from the BC on that issue. I already resigned from work!

I am from Mexico and I also got a Chevening award. I am really worried about the decision that the UK may take about Chevening.

At this point all is uncertainty for me. I think deferral is not the best option, because there will be no places for 2011-2012 scholars.

Does anyone know if Chevening was discussed today?

We received an official letter from the British Council explaining the delay. They assure the final decision and confirmation is due end of June - early July. Have to wait patiently and not make hasty moves with our jobs...

Am I the only one who has no final decision about the scholarship by the 4th of August? Please, answer somebody about their news... The coordinator of the Chevening scholarship in my country (Ukraine) says just to wait... But it is already 4th of August!!! I can't wait anymore!
