The Gates Cambridge rejection is in! LOL
Posted Mar 14, 2017 12:58
This thread has gone very quiet this week and I'm wondering whether a new round of rejections/offers has gone out.
Who here is still waiting for a decision?

Who here is still waiting for a decision?

Just an update, I spoke to the administrator and when I said I needed to know the outcome (special reasons) she said, she hopes news will come by end of the week but it could be as long as 2 weeks. So looks like the process is not over! I asked if offers were finished and only rejections left she said no the degree committee was still reviewing, so there is still hope?
Lots of positive thoughts :)

When ppl rang the office did they ask if one needs an interview to be admitted to the programme?
Posted Mar 14, 2017 15:58
Thanks Hannah.
The thread is quieter because the ones who were more active seem to have already got their offers.

The website states as follows:
"An interview (either by Skype, telephone or in person) may take place before reaching a decision on whether or not to recommend to the Graduate Admissions Office that a formal offer of a place be made."

Posted Mar 15, 2017 11:17
Yesterday I found out about a person that got a PhD offer without an interview one month ago.

I was just rejected!

I was just rejected!
OMG! So sorry!! I know my situation may soon be like yours as I have had a struggle getting into my account since an hour ago.
Just yesterday, one of my applications to another university was rejected because according to them, the potential supervisor has put in his resignation notice! I was utterly crashed because this was a fully funded PHD and I lost it because of a flimsy reason.
Now with the rejections of Cambridge streaming in and being #ForeverDC, today may be another rejection day.

Has anyone heard from Oxford?

Has anyone heard from Oxford?
We should hear from them today. This is what they said in a email sent earlier this month: We are still in the process of assessing graduate applications and are not in a position to report any decisions at this point, but will let all candidates know whether they have been successful or unsuccessful by 17 March
