I finally managed to get my Oxford MJur application in yesterday (playing with fire with the upcoming deadline...), now I'm waiting, hoping and praying that my references get their letters in by Friday.

Does anyone have an idea of the academic conditions that accompany offers, especially for Canadian students (our GPA system is different from the US') ? I know it's different for every student, but any example ??
My GPA (on a scale of 10) is an 8 and I wonder if, if I get an offer of course, there are chances that they ask me to achieve higher than that ...

I'm not from Canada but if you havent finished your degree yet then generally the academic requirements are that you finish with a UK first class average (or the Canadian equivalent).

I advise you check out threads from previous years as I recall there were discussions re academic conditions.

I am not Canadian, but according to its website, it requires a degree with qualification equivalent to the First. To covert this into Canadian standard, it requires overall GPA of 3.7/4, 4/4.3, A or 83%.

Received an email yesterday containing info re. the conditional offer. I've now checked my online status which has changed to conditional offer made/seeking college membership. This is so exciting!

And now, to be self interested haha, do we know if there's any relationship between the LLM selection process and the MCL? Like is the selection committee the same or do they do the LLM after they have finished going through the MCL or anything?

Generally MCL offers are released a few weeks prior to the LLM. If conditional offers for the MCL are coming out now, then we should expect LLM offers in the next few weeks - which is right on schedule!

Thanks Harobed ! It's weird though as I seem to remember the MCL deadline is in January compared to our November one...

So hopefully we may hear from them at the end of February for the LLM...

The one thing that annoys me out of all of this is that I was given a 3rd March deadline to confirm my spot on the MCL. In the meantime, I'm stuck here wondering (and doubting) whether I'll have news on both the LLM and the MJur before then, which I doubt.

Having applied for both of MCL and LLM at Cam, I wonder whether MCL is generally considered as more preferred or prestigious course than LLM, or the opposite? I want to hear people's general view from the popularity perspective, not the kind of answer that two different courses focusing on different interest or issues.

This has probably been discussed many times on this forum but have people been accepted into the Cambridge LLM with a high 2:1 from a top university?
