Cambridge LL.M. Applicants 2023-2024

Mehreen

Using this I went through this thread and tried to make a similar stats list, it was very much made in haste so if I haven't accounted for it all feel free to add!

So far this is what it is looking like in comparison from 2020/2021

Feb 14: 1 PAO
Feb 15: 3 PAO
Feb 16: 3 PAO
Feb 17: 2 PAO
Feb 20: 1 PAO
Feb 21: 1 PAO
Feb 22: 2 PAO

Didn't count today's and also for context I counted a PAO on the day it was put into the thread, unless there was a date attached to it as I know a couple of people said they didn't know when they changed to PAO just that they did :)

Good morning under review gang. Another day of waiting game.

This year's trope is almost similar to 2021-2022 thread. I think there will be some movements today. I don't want to stress anyone out, so spoiler alert! -- they started sending out rejections on 23th Feb whilst the year 2020-2021, they started sending out rejections on 24th Feb.

And a lot of thanks to @EloiseH on 2021-2022 thread for collecting this data from 2020-2021 thread:

Mon 24 Feb- 5 unsuccessful

Tues 25 Feb- 8 unsuccessful

Weds 26 Feb- 2 unsuccessful, 3 GAO (all evening)

Fri 28 Feb- 1 unsuccessful, 8 GAO (all evening)

Sun 1 Mar- 1 unsuccessful, 9 GAO (all day)

Mon 2 Mar- 4 GAO

Weds 4 Mar- 15 GAO

Thurs 5 Mar- 1 GAO

Fri 6 Mar- 2 GAO

I don't want to talk about year 2022-2023 because there was an unusual delay of processes.

Finger crossed! 1f91e

Thank you very much for your guys' efforts. It seems that there will still be many PAO coming with rejections in the following days and weeks. Fingers crossed. Today, so far, mine is still under review.

I am also still under review. Doesn't seem to have been much movement today.

Those who moved to PAO, when did you all apply? I applied a day before the deadline. Wondering if that has any bearing on when applications move.

If it helps, I applied to the LLM and the MCL both on deadline day. I am on PAO with my MCL application whereas my LLM application is still under review : )

I actually only applied the day of it I think because there was an issue with the portal. I move to PAO last week

I was PAO'd on 15 Feb. Submitted my application two weeks before the deadline. International student from EU with name and surname in the middle/end of alphabet, so no real criteria here I think. Good luck everyone!

I applied on deadline day. No clue when the PAO came in though.

For what it’s worth I moved to PAO on Wednesday last week and I finished my undergraduate degree in May 2022

Precisely. Even I am thinking of the same. I haven't completed my degree and I am still on review.

Has anyone received formal offers yet? I am nervous about being at PAO stage and not receiving an offer. Can anyone advise whether it is all but confirmed at this point - do people ever not receive an offer after being at PAO?

FYI I am a foreign student, currently completing an LLB. I applied on the final day. I was moved to PAO two days ago.

nothing to worry about. PAO is all but confirmed. People in previous years have received their formal offer letter upwards of a month later, so don’t stress. At the PAO stage they might just check the authenticity of your information, nothing else

Gosh it sucks knowing my application today would have been so much stronger. I have had 3 publications, 2 relevant experiences, my transcript has grown considerably... Plus Cambridge incorrectly put me down as having a parent already with a degree and refused to change. Beginning to consider withdrawing. Process really sucks. LSE offered me in <a month, and Cambridge take like 3? And they are so scrupulous with it too.

Withdrawing wouldn’t benefit you in any way. Cambridge can either reject you or accept you. If they reject you, then withdrawing a week or so before you find out they reject you accomplishes nothing. If they accept you, then withdrawing before they do so means you threw away a big opportunity for no reason.

Just stay patient. Check this website and the applicant portal once a day at set times (for instance 6PM British time). Don’t obsess over something you have no control over. Worst case, they’ll take a few more weeks.
