Hi all! I am an applicant from Paraguay to Cambridge, QMUL and LSE. How strict is Cambridge with its TOEFL 110 overall results? I got a 101 score. Thank you in advance!

I reckon they're extremely strict when it comes to results below the required margin. They should have a dedicated FAQ section on their website for your question I suppose.

I'm afraid Mombastic is right. I don't think they consider your English test score as one of the many elements in evaluating your application, but rather, as a prerequisite to even look at your application in the first place.

When I looked through the old threads about Cambridge, it was said that some people got a conditional offer who didn't have the necessary points. So it seems that in the past it wasn't always an absolute reason for exclusion if one didn't have enough points.

I have the same problem. Even though I scored 111, my score in the Speaking section was 23/30, which is below the requirement Cambridge sets (25/30). I hope they accept it though.

Yep, but was it conditioned on having a higher linguistic test though?

What about Oxford and LSE? I am an applicant with IELTS 6.5 score!

I applied to LSE just with my TOEFL score (104) and I got a conditional offer, by means of which I have to reach the required score.

Oxford requires 7.5. Can't recall about LSE - check Google.

Thank you all for your comments! I already got a conditional offer from QMUL; for the rest, fingers crossed! With regard to LSE, they ask 109, just one point below Cambridge. Cheers!

Does anyone know if it is ok that I have an overall TOEFL score of 110 but 23/30 on speaking? Will I have issues concerning my applications or they are lenient on this regard?

From what I know, it depends. Some universities only have a minimum overall requirement whereas other specifically set minimum thresholds for each section. You should check with each university,

Joyfully, my application was good enough to earn an offer! So happy about it!
