Hey,
Many thanks for offering to answer any questions...I was just wondering whether you knew what the chances are of getting the college of your first choice and how quickly you hear re college decisions?
Cheers!

Is the workload as horrendous as ive heard? (10-14 hours a day everyday) and what costitutes the bulk of that time?
I was thinkin options such as restitution, contract philosophical foundations and legal history etc
How many UK/Foreign students approx?

Hi, thank you very much for your enthusiasm.
What I would like to ask is about the tutorial system. How does it work? How many hours approximately does it take per week? Does it really make Oxford such a huge difference from other schools which don't provide this system?
Thank you very much.
Best regards,
catcat

Oxford is great and the tutorial system does make a difference indeed. The workload depends on the spread of tutorials in terms - if you have all the tutes in Trinity, it may be three or four tutorials per week with approx. 200 pages for each to be well prepared. Writing essays and getting feedback is the key to develop your reasoning and observe how the leaders in given field reason. Without that you just go to the lectures, you listen and gradually forget - without having such a chance to test your understanding. On average, there may be 2 or three students at the tutorial - so you have a good opportunity to discuss your point of view.
