I know that a lot of US universities ask for application fees, but it this also a "tradition" in the UK? I do not find a lot of info on this subject.

Check with the schools. But in general there might be an application fee, depending on the school - I know that LSE charges one - it's like £75 but they offer a reduction if you apply online.
But I was just looking at the Bristol LLM, and they don't charge an application fee at all.
