naranjoenflor84 - Where are you from? Are you planning on living in graduate housing? I can't figure out what I want to do about that....
cute_cute_pig - I have several friends who direct human rights organizations and they were the ones who recommended Essex to me. They said the faculty was phenomenal and that I probably wouldn't learn more at any other university. I understand that the University's name isn't as strong as other British universities when you talk about the University generically, but when you talk about an LL.M. in IHRL, I understand the school is very well regarded.
I don't know what the criteria for getting in is. I imagine it's competitive because of their standing within the human rights community.

Hi, I am from Capri (Italy) - however since 2002 I have been living in Pisa to study at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies.
With regard to housing, the Accomodation Office assigned me a room in Keynes' Tower, after paying a 200 £ deposit. The matter is, the rooms reserved for postgraduates coming from the EU are limited, so try to apply as soon as possible, otherwise you will have to look for private accomodation- more expensive and perhaps not to close to Uni.
