Hi guys,
Has anyone here applied for funding from the AHRC and, in particular, under their 'Professional Preparations Masters' program? If so, could you please let me know whether or not you have heard anything from them yet?
Cheers.

Hi, I have applied, but no reply yet.

Same here...
According to their website we ar supposed to hear from them some time this month but they really are leaving it quite late. If u are doing the BCL in oxford I believe that the faculty has its own internal competition to decide if your application merits a referral to the AHRC ie there is a chance that your application was never sent by them in the first place.

I participated in the doctoral competition and received good news last week. The letter was dated the 13th of August. But of course, it could be that the doctoral competition has a slightly different schedule.

Hi LawLord, luckily for this case, I'm not doing Oxford BCL, and I know for sure that my university has at least submitted the forms. I'll be in Cambridge LLM.

Yeh me too. Suzanne Wade has already written to tell me that my forms were sent. Today I got an offer of accommodation from my college (Downing college) and they put me in the most expensive price band. While it would be nice to get the AHRC funding to help with this, I am qute anxious at this stage to actually receive something from them - even if it is a rejection.
@Mila Congratulations mate! I believe competition for funding is intense so u must have been especially impressive. Thank you also for the info.

Well, I'm actually not so anxious, because I do not have much hope towards it. I already got the study loan, which will be enough to survive. But it seems that for many people AHRC seems the only option. There is a hot discussion going on regarding this topic in Cambridge Graduate Union forum: http://www.gradunion.cam.ac.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6345&start=420
