I am an American who graduated with an undergraduate degree in Economics and Modern Foreign Languages. I'd like to relocate to the UK and qualify as a solicitor. Under the normal route, CPE->LPC->training contract, I run into the problem that I wouldn't be eligible to remain in the UK after finishing the academic and vocational portions of the process unless I was sponsored by a firm during the contract training perod.
The only route around this seems to be the completion of an LLM, which would then allow me to remain in the country under the post-study work category of tier one. I notice that many institutions allow the entry into an LLM on completion of CPE, and I had just a few questions.
What would the process resemble if I decided to take an LL.M? CPE->LLM->LPC->training contract?
Would it be more diffcult to find a contract usng this route?
Do you have any other advice?
