accomodation cost in london


I AM APPLYING FOR GDL AND BPTC IN BPP UNIVERSITY FOR THEIR SEPTEMBER INTAKE..... I DONT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT THE LIVING EXPENSES IN LONDON, ALSO HOW MUCH USUALLY IS PAID TO STUDENTS FOR EACH HOUR IN LONDON DURING STUDIES AND AVERAGE ROOM RENT IN LONDON. I NEED FEW SUGGETIONS PLZ..... ALSO WILL I BE ABLE TO PAY MY UNIVERSITY FEE AND LIVING EXPENSES IN LONDON FROM MY TWENTY HOURS PER WEEK SALARY(as per the rules of british council)......PLZ ANY OPINIONS OR TIPS FOR ME THANK U.....

I don't mean to burst your bubble but I think it will be close to impossible to make ends meet on 20 hours a weeks salary. Let us say you make £10/hour (more than minimum wage)... That will give you about £10k per year... It just doesn't add up... The GDL alone will cost you about £10k. You'll need about £12k/year to live in London (and that is assuming you will live far from the city centre, will most likely share a flat and will have a non-existing social life). The BPTC will require another £16k in tuition... Sorry, but if you do the maths, it is just impossible... Unless you've got some money put aside to help you out...

Also, have a look at www.rentonomy.com... They provide a good overall picture of the cost of accommodation in London... And you can use www.rightmove.co.uk to help you find accommodation. If you stick to student halls (such as UNITE), you'll end up paying more and if you live on a budget, that's not good...
