Hello all,
I have taken the TOEFL ibt and it didn't do as well as I expected.
I was now notified of my score: 106: 24 reading; 26 speaking; 28 writing and listening.
I am applying to HLS, Columbia, Stanford, Berkeley and GTown.
In some of these, I do not meet the specific reading requirement (25).
Should I retake the Test?
Thank you
regards

I'm in the same situation but I'm not going to retake it. I understand that you meant Harvard's 25 requirement in all sub-sections. I took my test more than a year ago and I got 108: with Speaking only 24. I could have re-taken the test for free but I didn't because I think it's not that necessary. Especially when I'm now doing an LLM in an English speaking country. That should be enough to balance the lack of that 1 mark.
But anyway, even if I got 25 in the speaking sub-section, it's not like Harvard is going to accept me!! But in your case, if you have the potential and high expectaton. Just retake it.

Did you study for your test (as I will be doing my test next week and I don't have the intention to prepare myself for the test)? thanks.
I would retake it if I were you.

I have purchased the ETS preparation book.
The test is easy. It's a matter of time management.
You'll be sharing the small class room with other students and it may occur that they will be talking while you're doing the reading/listening part so the conditions are not exactly perfect for concentration. In my case, 2 guys started the test before the schedulled time (!) so while I was doing the listening they were doing the speaking... Not good...

If you have extra time and money, take it again.
In general you don't need but just in case ...
I had slightly less TOEFL and got in CLS, people had more and didn't

Thank you all for the responses. These "application times" tend to get us quite nervous...
I have been advised that the issue wouldn´t be that relevant so I decided not to take the test again.
Best of luck to all of you applying for 2010/2011.
