IELTS subscore crisis!!! got 8 overall but 6.5 for writing :(

Hey, everyone!
May I ask your opinion, please?

I plan to apply to for the LLM at Cambridge and LSE and the MJur for Oxford. I had been super excited about my IELTS result. It was announced 3 hours ago....and I almost faint...

Everything was great except the writing subscore. I got 9 for Reading, 8 for Listening, and 8.5 for speaking but a score of 6.5 for writing. I was so confident about my performance in both tasks, but then this happened... ToT

Will this kill my chance of being admitted into these 3 schools?

I am requesting the re-marking but I'm afraid it won't be in time for Cambridge...

OTL....

I think I will probably give up on Oxbridge as my other credentials are not that strong in the first place. With competitive disadvantage such as this predicament....I'm afraid my money would go to waste.

I will go ahead with LSE though. I heard they are more lenient with this kind of situation. High subscores in other sections should be enough to make up for this 0.5 accident...well, that's what I heard

What do you plan to do, Besperanca?

Hi WAAstor,

Did they finally accept your score at LSE?

My colleges get to LSE with writing at 6.5.
You will get conditional offer with requirement for pre-course.
