Fed up with TOEFL. Help!

Vaguez

Yes I do. I've taken it six times so far with grades between 94 and 97!!

I could not reach the 100!! I wanna apply to : Harvard, Yale, Columbia, Stanford.

I've been to these schools admissions offices and show them my CV. They all agreed I am highly competitive with other applicants and there could be a chance to getting in. However, you should take the TOEFL again !

I know they do not accept IELTS. I did not ask them about other TOEFL tests. Here, do they accept Paper Based Test TOEFL and Computer Based Test TOEFL ? PBT & CBT rather than IBT ?

I am taking the IBT for the 7th time in 10 days. Please advise!

I am angry with the TOEFL. I would kick him hard if he were a man! hehehehe :)

If your credentials are actually exceptionally good, you should apply nevertheless. The official minimum scores (eg 100 or 105 TOEFL iBT) are not always enforced in each individual case if the person has an otherwise great profile. I have heard of some schools (although none of the above mentioned ones) that would accept candidates under the condition that they take a 2-4 weeks English course on campus before the beginning of the semester.

On a side note, I am not sure there is a major difference in difficulty between iBT, pBT and cBT and you should certainly have a good reason not to take the iBT. On another side note, I am not sure it makes a lot of sense to take the test 7 times in 10 days - it is not a lottery and it should hardly come as a surprise to you that your score does not improve between two tests if you do not spend lots of time improving your language skills...

May I ask where you are from?

I read on this forum that a person got in Stanford with a Toefl ibt score of 97; however, he had to enroll in an English course previously to his LL.M. Probably he had outstanding credentials, so I'd say it's not impossible. Toefl is one part of the evaluation not the sole aspect! That's why many people with 100 and above get rejected
