My question is as the subject shows. Thanks in advance!
Can straight SJD holders without US LL.M/JD degree take the NY bar exam?

If you are a foreign attorney, can take California Bar but not NY unless you finish minimum 20 credits (or LL.M. = 24 credits minimum) with required mandatory subjects specified by the NY Bar Examiners, and approved by the American Bar Association. Better suggestion in this situation is to send your transcripts to the NY Bar Examiners for evaluation and know whether you are qualified to take the bar exam or not, if not, what subjects and how many credits you must study to qualify for NY bar. Hope this helps!
