I am interested in pursuing a career in Investment Banking. I am currently an MBA Finance student. I feel the LLM degree would help me differentiate myself as an Investment Banker. I am not interested in pursuing law, but would it be possible to enroll in an LLM program to learn about Finance and Banking law?

It is possible in the United Kingdom, United States, as well as European civil law countries like Austria, at institutions that use a cross-disciplinary pedagogy for teaching within a certain subject area.

By example, with my international tax & financial services degree, we strive to balance out each course among lawyers and bankers, as well as in our various publications the program produces for Lexis, Kluwer, and National Underwriters. Because most students are working full time, the program is primarily via video webinar with some on- campus time.

By another example of an all residential program, the Vienna International Tax program uses cross disciplinary approach as well. Living in Austria for a year is a nice experience for those that have time.
