I am planning to do my Masters of law(non thesis) from Mc Gill, Canada. I just wanted some tips and clarifications of the research proposal they require for the application
Since its a non thesis one, should i give more weightage to why i want to do an LLM from your university and how it will boost my career and just outline the field of research i wanna undertake right?

What does the application information say? I would think that you would want to have some information both about why the school itself as well as info about your research. But it would ultimately depend on what they're actually asking for.

Yeah they wanted to know why i want to do an LLM, how will the Mc Gill LLM help me in achieving my career goals and to highlight the interests offered by Mc Gill and to show your suitability for the same.
And they have asked me to 'outline' an area in which i would want to do research and my suitability for the same
