ISIP Job Fair opinions

Hi guys, I’m a recently admitted LLM student at BU Law, I wanted to know if any of you has any opinions and experiences about the ISIP job fair in NYC, is it likely to get a job? What type of jobs are the firms there looking to fill? Are there any firms from Europe recruiting in the fair?

Hi,

I did the general LLM in American Law at BU and I eventually landed a job through ISIP. 1f642 My response to your question would depend a lot on several factors:
- Where did you get your first Law degree?
- Do you have any previous experience and in which country?
- Which LLM exactly are you doing - general, tax, banking?

Hi,

I did the ISIP job fair in 2019 and I got several offer to join law firms and banks located in Luxembourg, France and Switzerland. I also interviewed with some law firms located in NY and London.

At the beginning of the process, you will need to select the geographical areas that interest you. And overall I had interviews in all these areas.

For example, as Spanish speakers, you will likely have several US law firms and local law firms based in Madrid and/or Barcelona but you also have the change to be interviewed with Luxembourg law firms (because Luxembourg is very international oriented). However, Spanish speakers are not limited to Europe, you can also prospect the south and central American market.

Hi! I went to ISIP on 2015 and I did began a selection process which I ended getting a job offer. I think it’s essential for you to be very determined on what you’re looking for. In my case, I was looking for a Job at my hometown so I didn’t looked for any employers that offered something different. Best of luck and congratulations on beginning your LLM.
