I am not sure if you are aware of it but you could negotiate with Harvard Law School regarding financial aid. I saw in a post from the previous year that someone from Cambridge with a fully funded position asked Harvard to reconsider the financial outcome and he was hence able to get adequate funding and ended up at Harvard. Apart from that, when you consider in terms of monetary value what NYU has offered is very generous but is that the institution that you have chased in your life? More importantly, what gives you more thrill: is it being a Harvard law student or NYU student? Ask yourself. Even if you don't get adequate funding, which I believe won't happen, from Harvard, you won't regret going up there because it is the Law School that you always dream about. I hope it helps.
P.S. To negotiate you just have to put all of your scholarship offers to HLS and in your case, Hauser would simply do the job as far as I am concerned
Hi everyone,
Could I please for your advice regarding the following dilemma: I received the Hauser Global Scholarship from NYU, covering tuition and living expenses. I have also been accepted at Harvard, but haven't secured any funding at this point.
Harvard's financial aid decisions are yet to be released (but I'm not optimistic about securing any or much funding). I am still waiting on a few external scholarship outcomes but I won't know the outcome before NYU's deadline. A condition of accepting NYU is that I withdraw from all other school offers.
I've always dreamt about going to Harvard but it is very hard to reconcile being potentially out of pocket for $110,000 as opposed to NYU's very generous offer.
Harvard has more tailored subjects on my particular areas of interest. I am also drawn towards Harvard's smaller cohort, and the brand recognition of Harvard.
I'd be very grateful for any advice or thoughts! Thank you.
