Hello. I am considering LLM at NYU. Does anybody know if the GMAT is needed?
GMAT FOR LLM?

I didn't apply to NYU, but as far as I know, no GMAT required there (or anywhere else for that matter).

Even if I am a foreign Lawyer?

Yes. The GMAT is for MBA applicants. I'm 100% sure that UK universities don't require GMAT because I've applied to 11 universities there (4 offers, 2 withdrawn applications and 5 rejections - I'm off to UCL in September). US universities, as far as I know, don't either (and I know people who've applied to Columbia, NYU, Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern, Chicago and UPenn). Neither one of them had sat the GMAT before applying, most of them got in anyway and they were all from outside the US (with law degrees from universities outside the US). The GMAT isn't a requirement for LLM programmes and I don't even think having a good GMAT mark would count in one's favour in relation to application assessment...

I would never rule anything out, but I have never heard of the GMAT being required for LL.M. admissions. The GMAT is used almost exclusively for MBA programs in the U.S., and it may be used for some Master's level finance and business programs (e.g., M.Sc. in Finance).
Beicon is correct. It is not required for any U.K. LL.M. program that I know of, and, while I did not apply to any U.S. LL.M. programs (because I am a U.S. J.D.) I have never heard of any such requirement here.
There may be a foreign language exam, and it stands to reason that if there were going to be some standardized test requirement, it would be the LSAT. But, I've never heard of the existence of such a monster. Both exams seem rather irrelevant once candidates have obtained a first law degree.

UG, Are you sure you're not confusing GMAT with LSAT?
At least LSAT would be more appropriate, and some law schools might ask to sit LSAT (though never heard of an LLM programme that requires LSAT score).

I have seen numerous LLM related websites,GMAT is needed onli for management related courses widely and u dnt need it to enter LLM course.
If u r a foreign student TOEFL will be considered, check if it is mandatory or if it is asked onli for those who have taken their grad in any othr language othr than english.
