At this point if your status has not been moved to PAO, is that an indication of rejection? I had my interview last week of January. But I have not heard anything back since nor has my status changed. I do not really know if that is an indication of anything. Any clues?

I have not had an interview and I am still on departmental review. I emailed the course co-ordinator. She said decisions will come by the end of the month.

Email from the Faculty that they were sending my application to PAO (though I moved to PAO on the portal on 9 Feb).  Email header was 'conditional offer of admission' but not left PAO on portal so no real change in status.

I got the same. What conditions do you think there might be if one already has an LLM?

I think when the faculty email says 'conditional offer', conditional means conditional on the PAO confirming the offer, rather than conditional in a technical sense.  If you already have your LLM and if they are otherwise happy to accept you 'as is' (which if moved to PAO I imagine they are!), I think it's a reasonable bet that the offer won't have any more academic conditions attached.

If you are still doing a taught master's, I understand they dislike making an unconditional offer, in case it encourages people taking their foot off the pedal, so they generally make the offer reliant on a first/distinction (though the extent to which that condition is absolutely concrete is apparently variable).  Research master's are different, maybe also an unconditional offer, it may well depend on the application as a whole.

Thanks! That makes sense.

Has anyone who got the email confirming that they had been recommended for an offer received said offer yet?

I got that email on Monday as well but have received no formal offer yet. The anticipation is killing me! It's also very distracting as I'm trying to get other work done but am compulsively checking the portal/my emails.

Same position for me.

Any updates from anybody? I am still stuck on "under review by the department" and have not had an interview yet. Getting really anxious!

I've heard nothing further anyway.  Interviews were slightly later in being called this year, and formal offers had already been issued this time last year, so things seem to be running behind schedule in general. It's probably due to the industrial unrest in UK higher education, so I wouldn't worry too much. Easier said than done though - I'm on tenterhooks!

Thanks for the reply, scoop. I’m sure you get your formal offer soon - should only be a matter of time, now. What I don’t understand is how long the process will drag on, especially since there’s been no movement for me as I’ve not received an interview call nor any status update on the portal.
