Hi,
I have just finished my bachelors with a 62.8% (CGPA of 6.15/10). I intend to apply for an LLM in Maritime Law. I have shortlisted some universities in the UK like Southampton, Swansea, Cardiff, Nottingham, etc. I wanted to apply for the 2017-18 session itself. But I am anxious because of my grades and a lack of quality research papers published.
Do I have a good chance of getting admission right away? Or should I gain some work experience first? I am asking this because majority of the people who I know have secured admissions into LLM courses had really good grades and impressive CVs.
Thank you.
Advice on what should be the next step

Hello Sudhir,
yes, you do have realistic chances of getting admitted right away. Maybe not everywhere, but you will get admitted to some of those places.
Bye

as you might have gathered from my postings, I completed my LLM at Swansea. It was a fantastic experience ! I strongly recommend it. You suprised me with Cardiff- I was in Wales for almost 2 years but never heard Cardiff offering LLM in Shipping. Are you sure about it? It must be a new development but do they have a team in place? I am not saying that they do not but it came to me as a surprise as Swansea is the only place in Wales offering maritime and one of the few places in the UK offering as a team!
