Vrije Universiteit Brussel

Fuffy

Does anybody know anything about, or has anybody undertaken the LLM in International and Comparitive Law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel? What kind of a reputation does the course have? I would like to do an LLM in international law in Europe, and England seems to have a lot of great choices, but England is too boring an option seeing as I am Australian. I would like a reputable continental European course in international law. Thanks

The course is well organised and well reputed. It keeps you busy for 9 months and gives you a versatile exposure. Although international law courses are part of the program but it is more focused on European Union law. That deficiency of internaational law can always be cured by attending a summer course at the Hague Academy of International Law in the Netherlands. The faculty members on the course come from different countries and are well experienced. I was on that course between 1995-1996 and I believe that I gained a lot.

Hi Zarang,

I was checking out the Hague Academy and you need already an LLM to join. Can I ask you which university you did your masters in?

I'm really interested in a masters programme in Public International Law. Currently Leiden University is what I'm thinking about and Cambridge beacause of their Lauterpacht Institute. Any thoughts?
