Amstedam and Leiden are the best ones. Tilburg has the following problem: despite the fact of being a very good university and very good professors there is a lack of reputation if you compare with Amsterdam or Leiden.
I applied 1 week ago to AMSTERDAM, how long does it take to hear from Amsterdam? Thanks a lot

Hey,
For me they send me the admission letter (via email) in 3 weeks and i reveived the offical letter 2 weeks later.
Thanks for your explanation, but which one did you mean by AMSTERDAM? Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam or University Van Amsterdam? I applied and got admission for Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Could you please explain more about Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam?
Many thanks for your help.

I mean the University of Amstedam, Amsterdam School of Law,Universiteit van Amsterdam
I have a very close friend of mine from Holland, he is a lawyer working in PWC. He kindly advised that the top unis in Holland are The University of AMSTERDAM (the one that I have applied) and Leiden, very well know throughout Europe. His LLB its from Tilburg, and he told me that it is a very good uni but as I said in my earlier email not many people know Tilburg. See, if u send your cv to a top law firm, they will know AMSTERDAM but who knows Tilburg? Thats the key issue. I can not talk too much about Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
My friends email regarding LLM in Netherlandsl: Amsterdam is the best city to live in, in Holland as a foreign student. However, the university of leiden is one of the best and oldest univeristies of Europe, especially in the field of law. Leiden is a great but small city full of students. It's also near Amsterdam and Rotterdam, approx. 50km.

Hello,
I am a student at VU Amsterdam. Though Leiden Uni and Amsterdam Uni are ranked higher, it is mostly because of the name they have build over the years. There are a lot of people who would argue that VU Amsterdam offers great courses as well, if not better.
I have heard that the Int. Business Law LLM is great. I know some of the teachers and I think you can expect classes to be quite difficult. I am told it is a fulltime study. There are lots of people from Asia every year. I think you'll do great at VU!

Hi Kubrick,
I am currently studying to complete my LLM in Dutch Private Law at VU University (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam) so I can say something about VU University.
When comparing Tilburg University with VU University, keep in mind that differences between the quality of Dutch universities are very small. Furthermore, the lawyers/ attorneys working for the prestigious firms in Amsterdam (specializing in business law) are predominantly Leiden, Utrecht and Amsterdam graduates (so I think you are making a right choice to study International Business Law in Amsterdam).
Both the quality of education as the reputation of VU University is excellent. Amsterdam has 2 universities: VU University and the University of Amsterdam. VU University has, in Amsterdam, the reputation of being somewhat better organized (in terms of schedules) and a little tougher than the University of Amsterdam. But both offer an excellent education, next year I will start an LLM at the University of Amsterdam ;)
