I know. The funny thing is that I sent my application the same day they sent to us the email. Buh, housing hunting in 2 months before the semester starts :S

Less than 2 hours before receiving the email stating the "good news", they sent me one telling "You will have an answer before the 15th of august ... it is very hard to find a room in Amsterdam, especially when you are not in the city... bla bla bla".
Two months before the start... :S :S :S :( That sucks!!

I am guessing nobody got a housing offer then...
How does that work? They assure you that accommodating international students is their highest priority.
And with 1000 rooms on offer, they just turn down everyone...
Guess I'll meet you all in one of the hostels, come the end August :p

Hi all,

Have any of you received a letter of acceptance to the ALS? I have not received anything besides an email stating that I got accepted into the LL.M. program. I applied in May.

The only thing that I received was the international student magazine from the undergraduate university. Based on earlier posts, I suppose that I need to be in Amsterdam by the 25th? Is there any special orientation that we need to attend before classes start? Did they send a book list?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I got the same situation. You need to call them to send You all stuff and You have to register for the courses to end of July at http://www.student.uva.nl/lawstudents/timetables.cfm

If you want an official letter, you need to ask them by mail,
and they will send it to you.

I also did not get any accommodation although I returned the form on the same morning as I received it. I am starting this think the UvA is a but unorganised and I submitted a last minute application to Tilburg (on Tuesday) which was accepted (yesterday) so now I do not know what to do as housing is guarenteed there.

I did, and for the books or manuals we have to buy, they give us an internet adress where (I think) there will be all information.

Is anyone in the european private law LLM get an email stating that he or she has to follow the European introduction courses ????
