Does anybody get accepted for MIDS in Geneva for 2010? I would like to know about this course because I'm planning for the next calendar year. Thanks in advance.

I was informed that could expect to receive the decision in late March. What about you?

Thank you very much for your application file.
You can expect to hear from us late February 2010 after closing of the deadline
This is what i received early December. I applied on 1st December. I was hoping to hear anytime now. However, they now say on the website that the decisions will be announced mid to end March. I have mailed them today. Let's see if they respond. MIDS is top on my list and therefore am really waiting.

Got reply to the mail which reads thus:
We are still in the process of evaluation of the candidatures. I will revert to you late March.
So, no option but to go off to sleep to be woken up by some good / bad email sometime this month.

I got the mail today -- I've been accepted. I am ebullient and more than a little surprised.
Tanya, am I to take it that the absence of financial aid information indicates that none is available? All I have seen is the information on the MIDS site suggesting that fin aid may be available to those who can demonstrate hardship and all other avenues explored.

Hello everybody.
I have been accepted, but i think I will refuse the offer, since I have been admitted to Queen Mary (school of international arbitration) and King's College.
I am really hesitating, because the MIDS is really expensive (I would have to borrow 35000 euros forone year, while for London 25000 euros), and I am not sure to have more opportunoties in international arbitration circle with the MIDS instead of a LLM in this area. I think a LLM will give me a common law "coloration", and I could improve my english faster in UK.
Congratulation for those who have been admited.

I also got an offer yesterday. I'm not sure if I'll accept it, as I have made some other applications (but haven't heard anything yet).
What is the academic profile of the people who got offers? I'm from the Netherlands and I have a 85% in my LLM and 70% in my LLB. Next to my LLM, I work as a policy advisor for a Member of Parliament.
And does anyone know how many people apply each year?

Congrats all.
Shandyz I am American by birth and education so I don't rely on the same academic system you've discussed. I only see one other American in the MIDS lists of 08-09 alum and current 09-10 students, but I don't know if that reflects a lack of applications. I see on here someone plans to turn down MIDS in favor of Queen Mary, in part because of a desire to get some common law credentials and improve English. I'm looking forward to MIDS for the inverse reasons :)

Hey guys..
Its "Tanay" not "Tanya"! :)
Congrats to all that got in!
@bookcrazy:
I am in international applicant,with two years work experience and one year teaching experience. Top 5% of my class throughout my education! What are our credentials like?
@this_living_hand
I sincerely do hope that non inclusion of any information does not mean that they have denied financial aid. I intend to send them an email asking them this very question. Will keep you posted. If you have already emailed them, let me know!
@shandyz
I have made some other applications as well! Will not decide on MIDS unless I hear from all, which I hope is soon! Where have you applied? I have applied to the US, as I felt the UK LLM structure to be too academic.

I am pretty confused about this course despite being bowled over by the faculty. First, I am not sure how competitive the selection is. Second, is Geneva not a more narrow exposure compared to a full university exposure at NY or London. Third, is it not more advidable to do one full module on arbitraition and study other subjects around contracts and trade and economic laws? Any opinions out there?

I agree. I think the programme is too limited for its costs. Since I'am also admitted to NYU I'm going to take some arbitration courses there, next to more substantive law.
