Has anyone done the master of european integration or europäisches wirtschaftsrech in Saarbrücken (DE), or are planning to do it? I mean the one at the Europainstitut http://www.europainstitut.de (not the one listed in the LLM-guide).

I am interested in the new english LLM. I'm 2 months away from obtaining a JD from an American law school. Do u have any american student in the class? I speak German, but my English is better. How expensive is Saarbrucken?

In my class there are any Americans. But I don't think that's a disadvantage. Most are Germans and from other european countries and some Chinese. Don't worry about the language level since most in my class have a very good command of English (mine is more intermediate :-(.
The living costs are low compared to other big cities (Frankfurt, München,...). That's a big advantage in my opinion.

Thanks a lot for offering information, but I've desided to go for a Dr. Iuris prgramme at the university of Vienna. Hopefully I'm right by chosing a Dr. degree instead of an LLM...

Can you guys give me an estimation of the living costs & other expenses in Saarbrucken? Help is very much apreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hi!
The living costs depend on your personal standards. I guess about 600 . If you operate very economically maybe a bit less. And if you want to live a comfortable life there is naturally no limit.

What is the average age of people studying LLM in Saarbrucken? Are these fresh graduates or people with already much experience at work?

Saarbrücken is a very nice city and the costs of living are not very high. They have very friendly staff at Europa-Institut (by the way, the Institute is listed on LLM Guide!) which can help you to find student accomodation which is absolutely affordable and well situated downtown.
The Europa-Institut is well-known and has a very good reputation, students came from 45 different countries in the last year and sometimes there are some Americans amongst them.
It is possible to do the complete program in English, you don`t have to take courses/lectures in German at all to obtain an LLM. Also the master thesis can be written in English.
As for the average age of students there is no general rule, it is quite mixed. There are some people with working experience, others are coming right from university. Due to the fact everyone is coming from a different system of university education (in Russia for example people start very early at university) it is not possible to give an exact average age.
if you have any further questions, let me know.

Hi
I also have applied for this program, but haven't recieved any answer yet, dispite of the message that they have my documents and will review them. They also mentioned that the decision will be made after July15.
Could you advise in which way they informed you? By email or you got letter by post?

Hello,
I was advised by email that I have been accepted and they emailed me a copy of a confirmation letter. It took them about 3 weeks to come back to me with a decision. Good luck:-)
