Hey there! I am also admitted, but still haven't decided whether I would go to Saarbrucken or to Maastricht European Law School. Do you already have accommodaton booked?

Hi,

I´ve been admitted as well. I´m still searching for an accommodation but could not find any. Any recommendations?

Hey amy a, congrats! No, I haven't found accomodations yet. What about you, are you searching for accomodations now? What about the rest of you, mbou, radoby and lunna, any luck with accomodations?

Lunna, yes I'm a lawyer.

Looking forward to meeting you all this October :)

Hello,
I've been accepted in the LLM as well :)
I already lived in Saarbruck, it is a very nice, not too expensive and quite secure town in general. The town center is approximatly between the train station ("Bahnhof"), St Johanner Markt and Nauwieserviertel. There's busses to the uni really often (it takes between 15 and 30 min).
The quarter in town where most of the students live is Nauwieserviertel. St Johann and all the south (Mainzerstrasse etc....) is also good. If you prefer something more quiet on the other side of the Saar next to the castle it it's really nice and close to the centre (only a bridge to cross). Personnaly I've found something here.
There's also residences in the Campus, generally a little less expensive and all-costs-inclusive, e.g. Wohnheim E.
Between the town and the uni Waldhaus residence -recently renovated- can be a good compromise. By foot it stays a little wide from the uni and the town but by bicycle it's possible.
Finally, a lot of students live also in Dudwiler (Guckelsberg...) in the north but it's wider. Hope you will find something good, don't hesitate to ask questions!
I'm waiting for to meet you in October :)

Hi all,
I have just arrive back home from Saarbrücken. I have decided to go there cause I couldn´t find any accommodation via internet.I had luck. I am going to stay in Försterstrasse 70, the Student´s accommodation offered by Ms Schlösser, from the list that Uni sent us. I found out that there are a lot of students leaving in September and there must me some free rooms. If you want to stay in one of those 3 adresses (Dudweilerstrasse, Sulzbacherstrasse and Försterstrasse) you have to keep on e-mailing Ms Schlösser. These buildings are close to each other. Apps consist of bathroom, kitchenette and one room with bed, table and a closet. I have heard that most of the students from our program stay in Schlösser´s buildings. Rent + Running costs circa 270 Euro + electricity (every student has to have his own contract with the provider) + internent (they don´t provide internet connection, well it´s up to everybody figure out something) + the deposit circa 530 Euro (3 rents). I know that it sounds complicated but I met some former students and it´s not going to be a problem.
So good luck guys.

Hi,

Apart from Bambi Girl (whom i believe is from the Philippines) is anyone from any country outside the EU?

I'm in the midst of applying for the student visa and I have applied for a Blocked Account from Deutsche Bank. I was wondering how long does it usually take before I get a response... I sent mine 2 weeks ago and so far I've heard nothing from Deutsche Bank..

Anyone who can shed some light on this?
