Yeah, the info is included in predeparture information. I've transfered my tuition fee more than a week ago, but still no reply if they have received it. You can either transfer it before arrival, or after. I'll have too many things on my mind in Leiden, so decided to get through it right away.

As a non EU passport holder I was asked to pay within a month of the offer of admission. I've already transferred and received a receipt of payment. It took them some time though.
It feels like I am I the only non-EU passport holder studying at Leiden this year :)

wow, that's a lot!! somebody is paying less?
But you'll have the single room with your own shower and something else. Actually it's just interesting, what can they offer for that amount:) maybe dinner every day:)))
In Lithuania you can get your own apartment (not a room) and even more:)) Thay say, that i'll get my own shower, bathroom and internet:)
Anyways, see ya there! So you probably took the induction week, didn't you?

I'll be paying 450 euros for penthouse luxury suite room No.78, which is, for a big guy like me, of a size of a matchbox. No own shower or a bathroom, so I will have to wait for rainy days to wash myself, hehe.
Anyway, housing prices in Leiden are quiet ridiculous compared to the other Dutch cities. I'll be probably looking for a new place when I arrive.

oh, good:)) my room is 4- a big one.

How much is your rent?
Indeed, it is quite big - but it is also in the basement.
I'm in nr. 40 and will be paying 689euro.
I've also found a good place to order espresso machines - maybe this is just an Italian preoccupation, but it is a necessity of life for me!

You are in luck - I don't think the basement is deep at all!
I'll have some nice green tea with red bilberry and black currant from Sakhalin Island for you!
I'll be getting in 29 August on Swiss.

Looking forward to meeting everyone there. I'm just going to the two days of induction.
Another problem is that even though my lease starts on August 16, I arrive on a Friday night (Aug 17). They say we can't sign the lease and move in unless we arrive during business hours... is that right?
That means I'll have to find somewhere to stay for 3 nights... any suggestions?

how nice of you Kris! i think i might like it:)))
hathureliya, that's the most stupid thing i've ever heard. you'll be paying for a hotel room and the rent at the same time! suggestion: can you chane your flight time? you may end up spending less money this way:)
myself im coming on the 27th but as you know the rent starts on the 16th and i believe there's nothing i can do, cause there's no way for me to come earlier:)

I know its a bit crazy... getting a seat was difficult enough the first... I should have thought about it more closely when I booked...

hey everyone! i see a lot of people will be at hugo de grootsraat, just like me :) room 83, im paying 490 euros. i already visited, it is such a great place! but why are you all paying from 16th august? i pay from 1st september, i will arrive on the 31 of august to pick up the key (i just had an email from the housing office saying that the 1st is a saturday so they cannot give me the key but i can pick it up on friday before 12.30-it's ridiculous they dont open on friday afternoons and week-ends, with so many international students!) i wont come to the introduction days (i am working) so i hope i will catch up with you all when i arrive!

Hi, I'm sure you will!
well, i just thought that i might wanna come earlier, but then i changed my mind, and the decision was already made:) and still i think that it's a good idea to have the room befor the arrival I just feel more confident then:)
Will you be doing PIL? Where are you from?

oh, forgot that I had a question for those who payed the rent allready. how was it for those who did the transfers- any deductions from Fortis Bank side? They just said in the letter that: "Any bank charges are for your own account. Please note that the receiving Dutch bank often deducts an additional bank charge without informing you". How should I know and how much more should I transfer?

I am from France and i will be doing a master in public administration/european governance (i know i should not be on this website lol). i understand you prefer having your room set up before you arrive, still i did not feel like paying 15 days for nothing! but if i could arrive before to taste the city i would do it :p

nope, not PIL, EU law, so i shouldn't be here too:)
I'm from Lithuania. I'd like to, but on the same time I don't want to leave until the last moment, so i'm coming on the 27th only. I'll see you there!
