Hello,
I am currently considering an LLM in International and EU Law (specialising in either EU Law or EU Business Law) at UvA. I am looking for some information on living and/or studying in Amsterdam. Is the university held in high regard? Is the course satisfactory? And what is it like to live in Amsterdam as an LLM student?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Hello,
I was doing LL.M. at UvA last year. I am greatly satisfied, both with the quality of the course and living conditions.
Basically, all master courses in Int and EU law are good in NL. I chose Ams mostly because of the city itself and the scholarship I got; but however, I am very satisfied with its ranking as well. If you need more specific info, just say... :-)

hi
i am also considering studying LLM at UvA.. but though i read these info about programs.. i am not sure which one will be more suitable.. im looking for program mostly connected with corporate law, maybe M&A, so in future i will have good educational background if i want work for corporations - EU and/or international..
if u can help me with the choice, i would be grateful.. maybe if u know about different LLM programs in different cities (or just some good links) more suitable for this area
thnx a lot

Well, I could give you some tips but it's definitely up to you to decide!
UvA is not a bad choice, it has nice programs related to EU business law. I would also take a look at Utrecht and Leiden, as they have proved to be great in terms of entire international/eu law.... If I was you, I would probably take a look at each curricula and decide accordingly. I know that Utrecht and Leiden have great reputation, and I would certainly recommend them, maybe Groningen too. I can say everything positive about UvA, since I was there, especially because their ranking has largely improved lately. I also know some people who finished their programmes (not necessarily eu business law) and work for good companies. However, it is my opinion that NL in general has good courses in int/eu law and you won't make huge mistake if you decide one instead of smth else. Good luck!

thnx a lot..
well so it seems generally neth. llm programs are good based upon your review.. maybe then it is about the place.. so i think amsterdam will be better choice...
maybe whats better to do first.. apply for program? then for some scholarship? or vice versa.. and evidently i will need some proof of english skills so i have to take some test.. like toefl.. hmm now i am realizing that maybe it is quite late for applying and i should start that process much earlier..
thnx anyway.. i hope i didnt waste your time
