Hey lodos!
I am German and have studied law in Germany. My personal favourites would be:
1. Berlin (awesome city and not too expensive...also good Uni(s) )
2. Cologne (also very nice city...great festivals and parties, like Karneval or Christopher Street Day, but quite expensive, Uni has a good reputation, but to my mind totally overcrowded...around 60000 students!)
3. Münster (very good University, city is nice, great for students, everything can be done by bicycle or at least by bus, but also a bit conservative)
4. Heidelberg...coz I have never been there. But those who are there love it. It is the smallest of the citites u mentioned, but said to be beautiful and very old. Also good reputation.

Overall: Alle the Unis and cities u mentioned belong to the really good Universities in Germany (at least from their reputation). Cologne is probably the most expensive one. All the cities are typical student cities, although especially Berlin and also Cologne have a lot of other things to offer. Consider that all cities are quite close to airports or have one on their own (Cologne, Münster)....
Anyway, I think with these cities u can't do much wrong.

Which course do u want to do?
How do u imagine student life (in Germany)?...could be helpful for a decision as the cities are quite different.

First of all, thanks for your rapid answer!

I have studied law in Turkey and I haven't got enough information about these unis.
There are general introductions on internet pages but i need experience and i look for not conservative Uni .So your mesage is really helpful for me.

Could you give me more details especially about Berlin and Münster ?
These two unis are my favourites. Oportunities in llm and uni's ambiances are more important than city situation.

I am waiting for your answer...Thanks a lot.....

All mentioned universities are quite famous for their good education in Law. Heidelberg is definitely the best. Münster and Heidelberg are small and old typical student cities. Berlin is hip and in Cologne you can have great parties.

I would not say that Heidelberg is definetely the best. It is certainly the oldest. Some friends of mine have studied law there and they were not pleased at all. But from an employers perspective it might be the best one (from the performance and skills of the graduates I would say Münster!). If you look for a "not conservative" Uni and city I would recommend Berlin. Think it also has the best job opportunities (especially for non Germans). I don't know anything about the LLMs there as LLMs (at German Universities) are not that popular in Germany due to our study structure...study already takes around 5 years. If youz have to choose between Berlin and Münster consider the following:
Berlin: capitol city and thus very diverse, think around 3 Mio inhabitants, 2 big Universities, not too expensive, great for night outs
Münster: much smaller (think around 300000 people), very traditional and also I would say very German University (nice castle, a lot of red houses according to my memory :-) ), many student bars and pubs, famous LLMs in insurance law and M&A, not that cheap but also not too expensive, average rent for a flat around 300-400 Euros per month.

My personal favourite would be Berlin, but Münster is definetely a good choice either. But these cities are very different.

Hello Tigger,

thank u very much for your quick and detailed reply which really helped me a lot. Some things are clearer in my head now. However it is still very difficult for me to make a decision since both cities are interesting for different reasons. I'll let u know.

Yes, let me know. I am very intersted! But again, no matter which of the four (or two) Universities you choose, I think you won't regret it. All of them are very very nice German cities (for different reasons) and Unis!
