Anyone here accepted in Rotterdam for International and European Union Law starting on September 2023 or anyone doing the same programme right now?
If yes, you recommend it? How’s the study load and the University itself?

Hi! I will be pursuing an LLM in Commercial and Corporate Law @ EUR in 2023-24. I have created a group to gather LLM students but I was not able to find a lot of people. Feel free to join so we can discuss a bit about Rotterdam and the university: https://chat.whatsapp.com/KibJUktlCVM8Ve6SXbUqPT

Hi,
My name is Nadya and I am currently enrolled in the LL.M programme in International and European Union law. I follow the EU law track.
In brief, I would definitely recommend the programme!
Firstly, the Erasmus University is a fascinating educational institution! It provides high quality education, along with numerous extracurricular activities! The campus is huge and has many different facilities - libraries, gym, restaurants and bars, areas for relaxation, even a hair salon, and many others!
Secondly, as far as the programme itself is concerned, I honestly really enjoy it! The tutors possess great competencies and teaching skills. I recommend you to have a look at the curriculum and see whether the subjects offered suit your interests. But for me personally, the curriculum meets my interests and expectations! My group is relatively small (around 30 people in total) and this allows the lectures to be very efficient and productive, in my opinion. What I also enjoy is that the programme really attempts to prepare us for the job market and organises nice activities in this regard.
As far as the study load is concerned, I ensure you that if you make sure that you put the efforts and you work consistently on your assignments, you will have great results. Given that it's an LLM programme, it is challenging and very dynamic but I ensure you that it's totally worth it!
If you have any particular questions, do not hesitate to contact me - now or in the future!
I hope you enrol in the programme and enjoy it! Good luck!
Best,
Nadya

Hi,
I am also enrolled in this program and I totally agree with what Nadya says. To add a little bit though: I think unique to this master (and uni, I've been here 4 years now...!) is the insightful and fun balance between getting to know theoretical law and the practical side of law in the same master (there is a big difference in my opinion!). Furthermore, The professors and teachers are extremely competent in their area of expertise, and are eager to share that with the students. The latter is also possible because you are often in a small group and therefore you get more attention and the chance to get to know them. Lastly the thing I enjoyed most is the many activities organised by either the Uni or the students with support of the uni: trips to big law firms, Brussels, events, moot courts, etc. Finally, it is a bit of a broad master, but that is a great opportunity if you are not quite certain yet with what you want to do specifically (and no worries; there are opportunities to do deep dives into subjects if wanted!).
Hope this helped and good luck with choosing your LLM,
Jonah

Thank you so much for the replies! This makes my decision way easier :)
one more thing, I already looked into the housing situation in Rotterdam and seems like it’s quite hard to find something. How did you guys find your rooms and do you have any tips besides the stuff I find on the EUR website?
