Hi everyone,
I was thinking about applying for the LLM European law on a Global Context due to the very good reviews in this forum. I have understood from the posts that there is no masters thesis integrated in the module. So how are the courses graded? Are there exams after each course or presentations? And if there are written exams how are they structured?
I would be glad to receive your input - especially from former alumni.
Thank you very much!
Esther

hi Esther!
I'm an alum of the European law in a global context. For the masters thesis, it is not part of the one-year program, but you have the option to extend an extra semester and write the thesis.
Most classes have exams, and the majority of them are essay style questions to either explain a concept learned or apply the law learned in a situation (typical law school style questions). It's a split between take home exams and in person exams.
hope this helps!

Hi nplx2020,
Thank you so much for your answer! Your explanation seems like you enjoyed and recommend the program. That helps a lot. So I will get an LLM title after one year and a Master (of science?) degree if I also write the thesis?
I am very excited and hope to get admitted as the program looks so promising. I don't really understand why it is not more known throughout Europe.

Hi Esther,
I am also an Alumni of the Law in a European and Global Context LLM. I definitely recommend it, the program opens your mind to new perspectives, courses are innovative and interesting and covers current topics. The professors are amazing they come from universities from all over the world. The students are also international, making it a true international program in Lisbon. The courses are like seminars you have courses that last a few days, others a few weeks and exams are essays or essay type of questions. I really enjoyed the program. I also did the MTL (Master in Transnational Law), is an extra semester where you write your thesis. If you need more information I will leave you my email: karina.gabela.r19@gmail.com
Feel free to contact me if you have more questions
