I have seen some questions regarding the best law schools in Europe but I think that it is a bad comparison. Instead I would like to know which countries would be best to study law and which should a student stay away from. I need help in narrowing my choices as I am sure many people out there have the same problem as well.

do you want to practise law? then you should consider studying in the respective country.
I'm sure you'll find good law faculties in every european country.

I think this question cannot really be answered abstractly.
However, to give some ideas:
Most influential European countries for law to my eyes:
- UK (Common law)
- Italy (Roman/Civil law)
- Germany (Constitutional law, Administrative law, Civil law)
- France (Code Napoleon)
Bu I am also sure that there are indeed excellent law schools in every country, eg Uni of Leiden, Vienna, Krakow, Dublin, Riga and many many more!
