Hello everyone!
I'm not a law student but I've found this is the only forum talking about the CoE. After reading your posts about the motivations I'm kind of nervous I did it wrong. I applied and I put IRD as my first choice and Pol Admin as my second but I basically wrote in my motivation that both suit my interests and that Pol might be better for me (the problem was I couldn't put IRD as a second choice). Do you think this hurts my chances? The two questions together kind of made up one big motivation letter so I hope they read them both as it will be strongest that way.
I'm also wondering what they will think about the fact that I'm American- does anyone know if many Americans apply? I met CoE students one year in New York at a Model UN conference and only one of the students in their whole year was American. Will this work against me or for me? I'm not worried about the language aspect- I'm fluent in French (I attended french immersion school since the age of 5), was a double major in Global Studies (focus on Europe) and French Studies, and studied abroad for a semester at the Cours de Civilisation Francaise de la Sorbonne. It's really hard to know where I stand in my chances of being admitted, though.
Thoughts, anyone? Good luck!
Brigit

Wow congratulations to all of you! I still have to wait for a couple of weeks untill I know whether I'm shortlisted or not. But they told me that the selection procedure (in case I get shortlisted) will probably only be in May/June, so late!!

The admissions office at the CoE told me that only preselected students would have to send the application to the MAEC, so I guess we don't have to worry too much about it right now... :)

Hey Jeanine - how do you know that the selection procedure will take place in May? Last year, people applying directly to the CoE were shortlisted around March, interview around mid-April and final decision mid-May..

I asked them when we will hear something about the preselection and what the approximate date of the interview is. But I think it is because I applied for the Geremek-scholarship as well. Let's hope it will be the same as last year! But the first step is being preselected at all so fingers crossed..

Hey has any of you applied through two selection committees? And if so do you know if you are rejected from CoE if you get rejected from one of the selection committees or if you have a chance with the other selection committee too?
