Hi,
Is anyone considering applying for the Bucerius/WHU MLB program beginning in 2012? Which other schools are you looking into? I would like to be in touch with other prospective 2012 MLB students.

I am interested to know the employment opportunities after graduating the MLB both for economics/finance and law students. I am trying to determine if the MLB is a door opener. Can any MLB graduates ( especially within the last two years) share their views?

Dear Robin,
career perspectives are very good. For a list of companies that currrently employ our graduates, please refer to http://www.bucerius.whu.edu/Alumni.143.0.html.
Furthermore, you may also post your questions on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/MLB.Program) to which a lot of alumni subscribe. This way you may be able to get into contact with alumni directly.
And last but not least, you may of course send me an email any time with any further questions or concerns you may have: inga.diercks@law-school.de).
Best regards,

Hello Inga,
Thanks for the info.
In the MLB modules, are any of the courses compulsory or are they all optional/electives?. Additionally, how many courses within each Module do the students need to complete?

Dear Robin,
there are no mandatory courses. However, there are mandatory components, such as the two orientation weeks, the internship, the Master's thesis, the capstone course and the social project. You have to complete 5 courses from Modules 1 and 2, and 4 from Modules 3 and 4. You'll find more information on the structure and the courses here:
http://www.bucerius.whu.edu/Course_Program.64.0.html.
Kind regards,
Inga

Hello Inga,
Firstly, with reference to the current course offerings, can applicants to the 2012/2013 program assume that the courses on offer will be the same as for 2011/2012? Additionally, is there a guarantee that all offered courses in the modules will be available irrespective of the number of students in each course?
Secondly, will business/economics graduates be able to pursue an internship in a law firm? And will law graduates be able to pursue an internship in a corporation?
Finally, could you kindly explain the extent of the scholarship support on offer? For example, to what extent do the MLB scholarships on offer cover tuition costs?

Dear Robin,
generally we will offer the same courses again. However, as we evaluate the courses each year and many of our lecturers are practitioners who may not always be available, the courses catalogue is subject to small changes. We have only had to cancel courses twice because too few students signed up for them (less than 5).
Students are free to pursue their internship wherever they want. We make no restrictions. However, while our career counselor helps with identifying possible internship employers and helps with the application, you are ultimately responsible yourself for finding an internship.
There are no set rates for the scholarships. We individual decisions for each students based on their own financial resources. Scholarship may only be used to cover part of the tuition. Students are responsible for financing their own cost of living. For living expense scholarships you may for example contact the DAAD or some other scholarship providers listed on our website.

Hello Inga,
There are several questions I would like to clarify. I have read the course program outline on the website, however I feel there is still not enough information on each course in order to make an informed selection. Is it possible to obtain more detailed breakdowns of each of the courses offered? I would like to see the "nuts and bolts" involved in each course being offered.
While I am aware that both Bucerius Law School and the WHU are both accredited, is the MLB program itself accredited by AACSB,EQUIS,FIBAA etc ?
Is there any possibility to take a specialization within the MLB program?
Lastly, could you expand a little more on the "Studium Generale". For example what does the social project entail? Also, the study trip to Brussels- is this open to all MLB students? What is the cost of this study trip?
Thank you.

Hey guys,
Can you please tell me what was the interview like? What types of questions were you asked? Questions regarding your motivation to apply for the MLB and your educational background / or law related questions?
Thanks!
