Applications for 2008-09 course

ruma

Hi friends,

I was wondering if any of you who've applied for the 2008-09 course at UNICRI have gotten any acceptances - I have just applied a few days back, I sent my materials by email as alo by post. Though my postal materials will probably be delivered tomorrow, I didn't get any acknowledgment for my email. Is that a common experience?

And does anyone know the number of students that they will admit to the course?

I'd rather call them. I heard the people in charge of the LLM are very helpful, so I would guess they will try to confirm reception if you call. On the other hand, it may not be a common practice to send e-mails, I would consider it normal in a big organisation. but it's just my short life experience...

:) Noted. I'll probably wait till one more working day (tomorrow) and call. I got a reasonably prompt reply when I emailed them about the application form. I'm a little paranoid about international couriers after DHL lost my Stanford Application last year!

Chapeau bas for applying to stanford. as for the number of people accepted - no clue. the answer is always the same, though: the best, including you then :-)
I'm on the spot, fortunately, so no post needed hopefully. ciao

I called them and got confirmation of the receipt of my email, and today I got this email:

"HARD COPIES RECEIVED.

In order to obtain the LLM diploma, applicants will be required to provide a Declaration of Value of their university degree, issued by the Italian Embassy or Consulate in the country of origin, and copies of all certificates translated and asseverated by the Italian Embassy, or by the appropriate authorities of the issuing country. These documents have to be sent to the University of Turin before the beginning of the eLearning session (17th November 2008)."

Does that apply to all "applicants" or only selected ones? The mail is kinda vague. Any ideas?

Has any one been accepted on the above course. can I apply for the course at this time while the deadline has passed. I am a practicing lawer in the field of criminal law and human rights. I am very intrigued by the contents of the course, though I am not sure how well-structured it is and what the quality of lectures will be. And also, if there are any study tours to other UN orgs based outside the UNICRI. can any one enlighten on that. thanks

1. results should be on 22 Oct I believe.
2. it's late but as they inform on their webistes - "Late applications will be considered at the Scientific Committee's discretion". before we are really enlisted we have to gather some additional documents after 22nd of Oct, so there will be a waiting list - so in fact the selection process is longer.
3. see one of my previous mails.

I looked for the people who had done LLM at UNICRI via Facebook. Some of them replied and in general they were very positive. High-profile and professional teachers, helpful tutors, insight into UNICRI, moot court, + Torino itself. However, there used to be some organisational problems, but it should be resolved after having been discussed with UNICRI leaders. Some complained on short deadlines for submitting papers etc. - but that depends on the sort of student you are.(...)"

Pls I need to clarify something. when making the application, are we expected to submit our entire academic transcripts or just photocopies of our certificates/diplomas? secondly, what sort of proof do they need as evidence of my proficiency in english? the school doesnt seem to have a TOEFL code
