Hi, I got accepted into the llm programme for 2008-2009. I am thinking about being in Turin from about mid jan 2009. I live in the caribbean and i am looking for an apartment off campus. Does anyone know of any apartments around the university and prices. Please let me know as soon as possible. I have no idea of places close to the university etc. thanks.

Hi!
I will go on this program as well and I hope someone can give us some usefull links, cause it can be expensive to go there and look for some acomodation or to call and try to make selection that way. I would like to find some small apartment that is close to the university .
Can anyone suggest something?
Thanks!

Hello there!
I'm also trying to figure out how to find a place to stay.
Haven't received anything regarding the e-learning yet.
There is a comunity on Facebook named "UNICRI LLM Turin 2008-2009" that was created by one of our classmates. I think it woud be nice if everyone could join it.
I'm also concerned about getting the student visa in a due time. Do you guys have yours already?
Best regards,
Carla

at least around 280 euros per person per month (we're talking about shared flats, right? something more accesibile for students ;-)
I saw something cheaper - and indeed closer to UNICRI - i.e. for 250 euos with everything included, but further from the centre (piazza garimbelti, 15-20 minutes in tram from the main railway station porta nuova) and in a shared room. In the totally renovated flat would live in total 5 persons (3 rooms). maybe similar offers would be able to be found there (although 250 everything included was rather exceptional), since it's a district with more modern and bigger flats, i think, in block of flats. another interesting region - but further from UNICRI - is around via artisti. it's very calm and richer, closer to the most beautiful part of the city and university buildings. though, prices are rather 270-280 minimum (250 fixed for the rent + some expenses, like for water, light etc.).
I live in San Salvario - check in googleMaps street via saluzzo. 2 minutes from main railway station, historic beautiful buildings, plenty of useful shops, food market, good bus connections, metro station (but the metro is very short...!), a great park nearby, and a nice 15 minutes walk through shopping streets to the most beautiful part of the city. on the other side it's a city in the city - it's a typical immigrant district, with habitants from north africa, far asia... and poland (me ;-) Italians do not seem much habituated to mass immigration, moreover if you face prostitution, people spending all days on standing and chatting on the streets (some of them are drugs dealers certainly) etc. - you may feel uneasy. Well, I met here plenty of nice people, and to the rest you can get used to (i mean prostitutes and those strange guys; i love the cosmopolitan mixture here). there are plenty of students and very nice bars/clubs to spend evenings (in the park nearby but also in the streets). it's also true that the further from the railway station the more typical italian style of the same district. anyway, due to doubtful reputation and worse condition of buildings and flats prices are lower. i have a big fully equipped single room in a flat that i share with two italians. we have a beutiful view on the district and the hills of turin... :-) i pay 250 + 10 for internet + we share light and gas. in total should be around 270-280.
check following sites to have broader perspective (at least the first and the best one):
http://torino.kijiji.it/
http://case.trovit.it/
http://www.easystanza.it/index.aspx
For short stays at the beginning: Couchsurfing or Hospitalityclub.
Good luck guys. I did not get accepted for the LLM and I would be also thankful if you send me your applications at kowalewski_j@wp.pl so that I could learn from you...

Hi Friends
I have applied for the program this year and do not have any update as of now. Can anyone please guide me as to the selection procedure and how to better up my chances next year. I have also applied to the WIPO scholarship. No response as yet from there too. Can any of you selected candidates please share useful info.
