Hey!
I'm currently in high school in Ontario. I want to study law. I'm only in grade 11 and as of now I have an average of 87%, which is not really enough for any of my desired programs. I plan to write the SAT in January and again in May. I will be doing two subject tests: Literature and History. If I can, I would try to do both the history tests.
I am a prefect, a music directorate(student council for music) member, I write for the school newspaper, and I run a library club at an old home where I read to the old ladies. I also play in the school orchestra,
I found these world rankings for law:
http://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/world-university-rankings/2011/subject-rankings/social-sciences/law
Was considering the following:
USA- Colubia, New York, Duke and Cornell...and maybe Princeton.
US- LSE(My dream school), UCL, Oxford and Queen Mary
CA- McGill and/or UofT
In UK, I can study law straight for the undergraduate, but for US and CA, I was thinking of majoring in international relations/political science before applying for my law school.
Questions:
1) What might be the most suitable degree considering my current marks? I will try my hardest to bump it up to a 90.
2)Could I ever have the slightest possibility to make it to LSE?
3)Anything else that I could do to improve my chances other than work hard?
4) Will these universities see my first SAT mark if it is bad?
5) How did you get into any of these universities?
6) How well do I have to do on the LNAT? How can i prepare for it well? I can sadly, only write it once!
I am really passionate about law. I think it's the only way to fight corruption really. I am a Bangladeshi-Canadian and want to make a difference in Bangladesh. I know that fair laws would help Bangladesh gain more political stability.
Thank you for your answers! I really appreciate it!
