visa qualification in taking California bar

Hi. I am new here. I just recently took the Bar examination in my home country and I am currently waiting for the results which hopefully would come out next month.

I understand that any foreign lawyer who has been admitted to his home country may take the California Bar Exam. I have a tourist visa in the US. I would like to know if I am qualified to take the California Bar Exam even if I only have a US tourist visa.

I hope somebody in here can enlighten me. Thanks!

You need to contact the California state bar (www.calbar.org) and speak to them about requirements. Usually they will make you take some classes from an ABA accredited university in California through an LLM program. The requriements are less if you are coming from a common law country vs a civil or sharia law country. Hope this helps :D
