NY bar right after the LLM

Hi everyone,

Next fall i'm going to do a LLM in the U.S.
However i have a question : can I attend to the NY bar examination in july?

I've heard about MPRE, is it mandatory to take it BEFORE the bar examination?

Also, if I can't pass it in 2015, can i take in 2016, 2017 and so on?

Thanks.

You can the the MPRE before or after the bar, but within 3 years of the NY bar exam iirc. If you pass the NY bar and fail the MPRE, you can take it again and again and again and again ... and again. MPRE administrations are at least thrice a year if not more frequently. If you pass the NY bar exam, I don't see how you will not get the 85 in MPRE.

As far as NY bar exam is concerned, it has the MBE which should terrify you more than the MPRE. NY bar exam also has essays and NY multiple choice questions. So worrying about the MPRE is silly.

Besides all of this stuff, you need to do a general LLM which pretty much covers a lot of subjects necessary for the bar exam.
