LLM degree before applying to sit for the bar exam

hello.
I have the following question. I'm LLM student and would like to apply to take bar this July. I have graduation this May. Is it allowed to apply for the Bar, or I need to have diploma of LLM prior to apply.

Thank you in advance!

Basically,

1) You need to take 24 credits during your LLM
2) 12/24 credits should be American Law Related classes (talk to your Law School for further details).

And you are probably late for July applications. Even if you still have time until deadline (which you have to check) there is no way your application will be reviewed for July bar exam.

But as I said, talk to your Law School for further details.

it depends on the state you are applying to.
Foreign attorneys (meaning ones with foreign JD + US LLM) can only apply to sit California or New York.
NY deadlines for this July bar passed back in Fall, and Cali registration usually takes place in the month of March. Cali may review your application with a late fee (about $250), but NY won't.
Also, before you can sit the bar, you need to be registered with your state's bar association. That process takes months because of all diploma evaluations, and other document requests they have.
Anyway, contact your bar association for first hand information. I took California bar last year, and they were very helpful when walking me through registration and everything.

Hey,

I am not sure I understand. The NY Bar site doesn't mention being registered with the bar in any other state- only education requirements and bar exam. Did I miss something?

Thanks
