Hello Mr. Nayyar,

I am from India as well and had been researching a couple of LL.M programmes via distance learning in IT/IP Laws. Although your post is in Aus-NZ board (considering your question is thrown open for Australian Universities or for anyone who passes by), the following programmes seem good to me:

University of Edinburgh, which offers LL.M in Innovation, Technology and the laws:
http://www.law.ed.ac.uk/distancelearning/

University of London, which offers specialisation both in IP and International IP laws:
http://www.lawsdegree.org/

Hope this helps.

Helo Akanksha,

Thank you so much for giving a feed back. I shall look into the same and as well would share the same with you for your opinion. As regards LL.M in UK is concerned, I have gone through the fees structure, which approx comes to 500,000 to 800,00 INR.

Yes, I agree with you. The only area of concern is the fees. But, one can always rely on the scholarships if one can succeed in securing one.

Thanks

I asked information from the "University of London". Quite frankly, for an institution of higher education it looked rather unprofessional. I was wondering if this is a "real" university at all or just a hoax to get money from applicants. Make up your own minds but to me it looks weird and I certainly wouldn't send them any money.

There are so many Universities which allegedly claim to be accrediated. However, the fee structure thats there is so hefty and that too amounting to more than 500,000 INR, one really has to think. But then, where there is will there is a way, and I believe in that.

I think you must have gone to the wrong website--maybe you were at londondegree.org? That website looks cheesy and I have no idea who's behind it. Here's a link for the actual U of London LLM by Distance Learning program:
http://www.londonexternal.ac.uk/prospective_students/postgraduate/laws/index.shtml
And then here's the webpage on the same degree, though this website is hosted by Queen Mary (a school that's part of the University of London): http://www.law.qmul.ac.uk/postgraduate/onlinellm/
Apparently the U of London distance learning LLM is jointly run by Queen Mary and University College London (which are both part of the U of London).

British higher education has a long tradition of "external" degrees (i.e. distance learning). Ghe University of London's external program has existed for 150 years and has offered an LLM for about eighty years. So I certainly wouldn't worry about its legitimacy.
