Does any one know how difficult it is to receive a Chinese Government Scholarship for the LLM program at Zhejiang University?

Well, I've got an answer to my question! I received a notice of admission from the LLM program at Zhejiang today that states they've nominated me for the Chinese Government Scholarship. Hurrah! They tell me to expect official notification in July, but I believe their nomination is the critical factor to receive the scholarship, and that the CSC largely rubber stamps their nominees provided they meet criteria. My grades in law school were not stellar, and my impression is that there is not a lot of competition from western trained lawyers seeking admission to the program.

Hello wpskinner,
Hopefully you still check this as I am wondering if you could answer a few questions as I am very interested in the LLM at Zhejiang U.
1. When you were applying how did you go about obtaining a Form for Provisional Acceptance (I think they are generally called pre admission letters). I am from Australia so this process is quite foreign to me.
2. Did you study Chinese for a year (or two) prior to starting the LLM? If so, did you find this a worthwhile experience?
3.. What was your general experience of the LLM. Would you recommend it. It strikes me as a very worthwhile program but it is difficult to find reliable information.
Thanks a lot
