Hi my name is Osman Ahmad, i am from Islamabad, Pakistan. Like most law graduates i also want to pursue an LLM degree, my previous law degrees are from the UK. I have an LLB degree from the University of London(external programme) with a lower second division classification and i am also a Barrister(Lincoln's Inn), UK, which means that i hold a post graduate diploma in professional legal skills. I want to pursue to LLM degrees, one in the field of corporate governance and financial regulations and the second LLM in preferrably international comparitive law or global economy. I am aware that the NYU@NUS programme started by NYU is offering the global economy LLM, and that is of course a very attractive proposition. Whereas the NYU@NUS programme does remain one of my favourites however i would also ideally like to do an LLM from the US(that is the top ten law schools) this is not only due to their excellent reputation and standards of education, but also from a practical point of view that in order to work at a decent place anywhere in the world, you have to go to the best universities. Now for my main areas of concern which i am sure are not only mine but a number of people must have the same concerns as well. As i mentioned my grades above, which are nothing special and are only average, and this in my view is not a very good start, i do have decent recommendations from my professors who are themselves LLMs from oxbridge and Harvard, and i will also be working for a year before i do my LLM. I do not think that i will have any major problems in applying to places like Warwick University or even UCL, but i want to do my masters from the US, and the US is of course more competitive. Another problem for me is funding, although i may be able to fund myself SOMEHOW for one LLM but doing it for two is impossible, could anyone advise me on my scholarship chances, that is if i have any. I would appreciate some replies and comments especially from people who are facing the same dilemna as i am, or in general any other related querries, as maybe they could help me or i could help someone.

Best Regards
