So does this mean that the applicants who haven't heard from them yet are rejected?!
Has the decision been made already?? Please reply...
This strikes me so bad

I applied in 2005 for AY 2006/7 but couldn't attend so I was granted a defferment. Hoping to join NUS for AY 2007/8. I'll be doing the IP & Technology LL.M. I'm from Sri Lanka. anybody else who would probably be in my class?

I checked with them and I was told that the documents will be sent by end of May...
Posted May 03, 2007 03:49
WHAT?! They're sending them out end of May - thats crazy! how are we supposed to begin processing things!! Why is everything taking so long!!
Posted May 03, 2007 11:30
@sumana
exactly my thought...end of may is real crazy and given the fact that this year, the official halls of residence (read Gillman Hghts) is under renovation hence not available, so basically acco is also a big issue which will need a lot of thought and considern and for that we need time...
and end of may means no time b'cause obviously things will take off only once we get the official pkgs and everything from finances to acco to miscll. stuff needs to be done within a month and a half which atleast for me, is gonna be crazy :-(((

Just to clarify, we're sending out the letters of offer next week, which means you should be receiving them by around May the 20th. The new academic year begins 6th August 2007 (for the regular LLMs, not the IBL programme). That will give you more than two months. The end-May date is a misunderstanding.

Dear Mr.Tan
Thats encouraging news! I guess some of us got a little panicky for a while there! Can you please tell us when the scholarship results are declared? Apart from the FGS, is there anything else we can apply to? Or is it understood that if we havent received any communication regarding the same, then we will not receive financial aid?
Thanks for your prompt responses!

What course are u going to be pursuing at NUS? and where are you from?? Are u planning to stay at evans?
Posted May 03, 2007 12:59
All successful scholarship recipients have been identified and informed. If you have not heard from us on that, it means that we are unfortunately not able to offer you a scholarship.

hi tee...congrats on getting into the corp and fin services. Ive got into the Intl and Comp law. Like Sumana had asked, would you be stayin at evans? any clue abt the place? ive been hearing mixed opinions...
Posted May 08, 2007 11:38
hey renuka, congrats to u too!!.....well, re: evans, like i mentd in my earlier post, i m yet to decide..The only info i have abt the place is from the posts on this portal (and i m sure u have gone through them too!!)..Majority of them have painted a very grim pic of the place...I am very very confused, to say the least...
Where did u get the mixed opinions from?? u in touch with any current or ex- evans inhabitant??
Ideally, I would like to stay in a hostel rather than an apt (atleast the initial few months)..plus i definitely dont want to stay too far from the law school campus.. Now, apart from evans, is there any other hostel or some such close to the campus??? are u aware of it??
if evans is the only option, then i m not very sure now but think i most prolly will go for it rather than going for an apt..
What about you??? u open abt hostel/apt or u too have a specific choice???

Hey guys,
Does anyone have any info regarding the hostel facilities other than evans? Of what I've heard Evans isn't a great place and isn't the cleanest either( acc to some seniors) Whata are ur other options for housing?

Hi tee....well i think we are in the same club...i dont fancy staying in an apt and i definitely don wanna stay away from campus...domestic cleaning and local travel is not somethin which i wanna carry on my shoulders.....well there is some place called katong (its a hostel) not too sure if its close to campus....evans, well, is def not a gr8 place......but a few ppl have been tellin that its okay for starters...as in u stay there for the basic min 4 months and once u get ur own group u could move out....im tryin for this katong thing, if it doesn work, i think its evans for me, initially atleast! Keep me posted!
Posted May 10, 2007 13:55
hey renuka...just checked out the katong hostel website..the place looks pretty decent but sadly, they dont seem to offer single rooms (which i would prefer!!)...also, looks like its not too close to the campus 'cause in the mail re:the offer/admissions info, which was sent by NUS to all successful admits (incl. u :-) today, there's no mention of Katong as an option :-(...
As of now, i am seriously thinking of evans (due to lack of any other options!!)..and like u suggested, think its better to move out to an apt. once we have a group of like minded people...
so u gonna be an evans resident only if katong rejects u, huh? am sure it will work out..Their intake seems to be more than evans, approx arnd 800..so u definitely stand a good chance...anyway, all the best...
In the meanwhile, if u get info abt other acco options, then let me know too...Thanks...
