hahaha, my can full of worms was opened also. I just checked my pdf application and it certainly eliminates substantial parts of the 200 words essays.
But again, call me silly, I believe that what's meant to be, will be. Those who are destined to go to HLS will be selected. As simple as that.
Following the thread of where are you from/areas of interest, I am from South America, and my main (and only, actually) area of interest is Human Rights. I want to dedicate myself to humanitarian issues and refugee protection. I've worked with some NGOs, including a field experience in a conflict zone, where I assisted refugees. After HLS, again, if admitted hahaha, I want to work and help in Sri Lanka or Liberia.
Counting the seconds until Monday. Good luck everyone!!
What does "By late March" mean, Harvard?

where do you have that monday information from? hmm.... is monday the decision day? will they communicate to all students at the same time?
got 2 other great offers, but HLS would be my nr. 1 preference.

I'm sorry to everyone whose 'can of worms' has been opened! We should all take heart in the fact that it appears to be a near-universal issue. Also, it is possible that HLS do not see the same PDF-generated application form as applicants themselves.
Re the date, I still think Monday is more likely as HLS tends to release the Monday after spring break. This year may be a deviation from the 'before 20th March' convention (if one can call it that...) because of where spring break falls. Either way I just want it over and done with now :)

No use - Embark is a useless system with many unfortunate glitches and glaring delay issues - if it takes ages to update a simple application status, I would not bet my horse on it for being the most reliable tool for declaring results...
But you never know!!! :P

it seems that it will be next monday after all...hopefully

I know this is absolutely irrelevant, but Harvard's JFK School of Government is issuing its decisions today...So at leats we know administrative work is being done.
I've broken my own pact by checking my inbox every 20 seconds and almost made this board my homepage. HAHAHA.
I want a yes or a no, but I wanna know NOW!!!!
Sorry, my self-indulgence led me to writing this nonsense :)
Happy Friday everyone!

Hello everyone,
I thought I'd join this discussion. To me too it appears that the most likely date is Monday next week.
I have read a number of posts on this thread and others speculating that Harvard's decision to release late is a strategic one and decisions were in fact made a while ago. However, I believe that while a strategic element might be present, HLS has still been very recently looking at people's files. I assume this because I asked them about 10 days ago whether they need me to post my newly available fall grades to them and they said they did want to see them.
Good luck to everyone, I hope many of us will have a reason to celebrate next week :)

Hello everyone,
HLS has still been very recently looking at people's files. I assume this because I asked them about 10 days ago whether they need me to post my newly available fall grades to them and they said they did want to see them.
Of course they would ask for this. To not ask for it would indicate that a decision (and likely an unfavorable one) had already been reached, and they would not want to convey that information until the day that all decisions are released.

May be true but I don't think that must necessarily be the case. It would not be unusual for HLS to simply say that they evaluate candidates as they are at the time of their application. When I asked UChicago if they needed my class rank letter that my university had forgotten to include with my transcripts, they said they didn't - I got in nontheless.
