Hi,
I am from India, completed my LLB here and want to pursue LLM in USA.
I need some infromation regarding the same.
1) What are the list of Universities for Spring.
2)What are the requirements to apply in the Universities other than TOEFL/IELTS and LLB.
3)What could be the Tution Fee(Minimimum and Maximum)
4)What can be the duration of the Course(1 year or 2 years)
5)Do I need to approach any consultancies or can i do of my own. I tried to reach so many consultancies here but none of them handles for LLM as people here hardly go for LLM from here as they are more into MS.
6) What are the future propects after LLM.
7) What are the chances of getting scholarship.
8) Are there any universities where the tuition fees could be less.
9) What could be the best subject in LLM to pursue, wherein i can have oppurtunities to excel there.
Please guide me through these queries, it will be of great help for me.
Thanks,
Awasthi.

Hey Awatsi,
Try to do some reading here at the blog, it would be helpful - once you decide on the universities it will be easier for people to give you feedback :)

Hi, Awatsi.
Give us at least your target school(s) and concentration(s) so we can try to guide you.

LLM in US is a money making program for ALL schools. There are a handful with scholarships for LLM programs (mostly to meet some grant requirements or other reasons). Vast majority of LLMs will not get jobs in the US. Vast majority of even those who do get jobs after LLM, will not get a sponsorship at the end of their first year. Most foreign LLMs go back home having spent a ton of cash. So, that is the prospect of an LLM in US to stay in US.
Please be very very careful with your money and your future. If you want an LLM to go back home to waive around consider an LLM. If you are taking a loan to get here, forget about it, unless you are from a country with currency parity with the US, like Japan, EU countries or UK. Otherwise, save your money and work your way up in your country.

Hi!
Can someone please clarify whether 2 LORs for HLS should be okay (that's the minimum) - or will it be disadvantageous, given that HLS recognises, and is infact correct, that almost all applicants submit 3!
Anyone particularly with personal experience on this one?
Thanks.
