Securities and financial law. I think Upenn and UVA are both good in this area.

I would go for UVA. They have a similar reputation in the field you are interested, so I would go for the scholarship and the beauty of UVA :-)

yeah, go UVA. I reckon that, after Harvard, Yale, and Stanford, all the talk about differences between the top 10 is much of a muchness. I reckon it's all a load of crap, to be honest. Everything depends on the particular subject (and personal factors, of course, like where you wanna live etc.). In your field, UVA and Penn are both great. I do think Penn is slightly better, but probably not to the amount of $15,000. Plus, I think Virginia would be sweet!

with a $15,000 scholarship I would definitively go to UVA, whereas without we can further discuss upon which to choose... congrats on your admission and, especially, on your scholarship

Hybrid, has U Penn already told you that you will not be considered for financial assistance? I got admitted too but they told me they are still considering the financial aid. However, I think it's quite difficult to get anything from Penn.

@slowbutsure:
UPenn did not put anything regarding scholarship on the decision letter(e-mail). Did they tell you that they are still considering in the decision letter they sent to you?

I support that. I think if you can't go to Harvard, Yale, Stanford or Oxbridge, it is very important that you take a closer look to the location, the subjects of interest etc. because that is all that matters!

@Devil_Cat: Did you gain admissions by schools other than Upenn and UVA? Or won't you wait for schools that havent release their decisions?

@Claire-Marie: I applied to Upenn and UVA on about Jan. 27th (several days before the deadline date Feb 1). I get the admission e-mail from UVA on Feb.23 and from UPenn on March 2.

Hi guys, good decision to come to UVA. You will have an amazing time here! If you've got questions, feel free to send a PM (although I will be in Washington until Saturday night).
