As far as the requirements for admission go, does anybody kow what Harvard requires from UK graduates? Is it purely a first-class degree? Would they consider a high 2.1? If anyone has any experience of this pls let me know.
Cheers!!

hi! i think you need a good 2:1 to at least be considered. a first can only help. but my research shows that they are looking for other qualities and won't base their decision purely on academic results.
are you planning on applying for the session starting 2007?

Well i don't know whether to think of it as an unattainble goal. Seems like they're looking for out-of this world students who have published work, got first class degrees and written the constitution of a small country in their spare time!! I'm a recent graduate who wants to specialise in human rights. Have work experience in this field and will embark on an internship with a human rights NGO in Africa. Yes wanting to apply for 2007.

I really don't think its unattainable. And they aren't looking for spectacularly brilliant people, they will have no problem finding them. I think they are looking for people who have done well in life and can bring somethign different to the table.
Your work ex sounds interesting...and if you manage to write good essays then that's half the battle.
I am really stressing about the legal essay topic though.

see another problem is the letters of recommendation. i can't think of anyone who could write me a really good one..don't think my personal tutor at uni could. also, as far as the other two letters..I really can't think of suitable people in a professional capacity. and writing essays? is that part of the application process which falls under the personal statement? wow!!

I know! The legal essay is really worrying me. Don't even know where to start. But definitely get a recommendation from your personal tutor. That one will be important even if you think otherwise. If you've done internships etc then you can ask the person you worked for. God! I went through all this applying for my last degree! its going to be such a pain to do it all again...
